Owner & Dance Instructor
Thea began her journey with dance at the age of 2. She trained with numerous studios in the surrounding areas in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, and acrobats, and became an instructor at the age of 16 with the desire to bring out each clients full potential. She was a dance major at the University of Louisiana until she decided to take a break to have her beautiful child Suri. Since then she has traveled all over the country and world as far as Europe to further her expertise and choreograph. In 2012 Thea competed on the national televisions series “So You Think You Can Dance” making it to the 4th round of choreography and top 100 of her audition. She had the privilege of being chosen to be featured on many of their commercials as well as the cover of their website. Later that year, she was selected to choreograph and perform for NFL player Roman Harper and former NFL player Kyres Hebert’s football, cheer, and dance camp where she had the opportunity to work along side many professional athletes and dancers. She then began teaching private lessons in technique and acrobats to further her skills, knowledge, and experience in dance.She has since then become a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM to help better her knowledge in the field of biomechanics and the human movement system. Thea’s passion for dancing, teaching, and choreographing have been the focal point of her life. She is fun, energetic, and dedicated to teaching children and adults
Recreational And The Company Instructor
Kellie Boudreaux started dancing at the age of three at Scott Academy of Dance. Kellie attended Acadiana High School where she was on their dance team serving as captain her senior year. She is also currently going on her third year being Head Coach of the AHS Dance Team. Kellie is now a senior at the University of Louisiana majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion and Wellness. She was a four-year member of the nationally ranked Ragin’ Jazz Dance Team serving as secretary and co-captain. Kellie recently furthered her experience in dance by performing in the Oh Kelly bands most recent music video. She is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher and is excited to bring her passion for dance to TDA.
General Class Instructor
Kimber Chataigner found her passion in dance and tumbling at the age of 4 at St. Martin Academy of Fine Arts. She performed, traveled, taught, and competed with St. Martin Academy for fourteen years. She attended St. Martinville Senior High where she was cheer captain and choreographer during both her junior and senior year. She continued dancing throughout college by taking modern, jazz, and hip hop classes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, as well as performing as an alumnus with St. Martin Academy of Fine Arts and participating in all of Thea’s adult classes and workshops. Kimber has recently become a member of the TDA family and continues in Thea’s adult classes. While finishing her Biology degree at ULL, she has once again filled her passion with teaching and performing at Thea’s Dance Academy and can not wait for the chance to work with our kids again next year!
General Class Instructor
Brittany Renard teaches ballet classes at Thea’s Dance Academy and St. Martin Academy of Fine Arts. She graduated from St. Martin Academy in 2008 with twelve years of dance, after which she continued with the dance school, teaching and choreographing Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop while studying English at UL Lafayette. Brittany earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011 and then moved to Southern California where she continued to study English at the University of California, Riverside , earning a Master of Arts degree in 2013 and completing her PhD coursework in 2015. Now that she’s returned to Louisiana, Brittany works at South Louisiana Community College as the Assistant Director for Student Engagement. While she’s a very busy woman, she’s happy to once again fill her spare time with
Ciciley Alexander is a Marketing Major at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She is eager to utilize her background of training in dance to promote the Marketing and Communication Programs at Thea’s Dance Academy.
Pre-Primary Class Instructor
Lindsay Comeaux is a 2018 graduate of Catholic Highschool in New Iberia and a dance graduate from The Dance Factory. During her 15 years as a Dance student, she has performed in numerous competitions and has been awarded regional and national scholarships and has been selected as a scholarship finalist at multiple conventions. She has been teaching dance for 5 years and is excited to pour her passion for dance into our students at TDA
Boys Hip-Hop Instructor
Keefer Young teaches the boys beginner-intermediate hip hop class. He found his passion for dance at a young age competing in talent shows and event showcases. Keefer attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he studied Psychology with a minor in business. As he resumes his financial coaching business, he is honored to continue his passion for performance and teaching along with the amazing instructors of Thea’s Dance Academy.
