Hi Dance Family,

In this email you will find information on Picture Day, Hair/make-up for that day, Stockings needed for Picture day/Recital this year, and other Important Reminders. So please read this email carefully. If you need to reference it in the future simply visit the GoMotion app and select >News>Costume Picture Day Information

Reminders for this week:​

  • The stockings Required for your dancer's costumes are not included and will need to be purchased separately. (Exception of Boys and Acro Only dancers). We will no longer be using Block stockings and instead, this year we will be offering 3 different colors for parents to choose which shade best matches their dancer's skin tone. All 3 options are available for purchase via our online Dance Store(link below). Simply copy this link into your browser and then select Stockings for Picture Day & Recital then choose the color and size you would like to purchase. You will be able to pay on this site and even have them shipped directly to you. If you would like to see these color options in person please stop by the lobby.

  • If your dancer does not have the correct dance shoes/colors, they will need to have these for picture day. You can view the required shoes and purchase them as well through our Online dance store mentioned above.
  • If you have not picked up your dancer's costumes please make sure you do so by the end of the week.

 

HAIR: See Females hairstyle below. Boys will simply wear their hair slicked back and out of the face.

  • Low ballet bun with a middle part. (I have included a photo below, to give you a better idea of how this hairstyle should look.)

​​For this hairstyle, you will need to:

  • Part hair straight down the middle from the forehead to the crown of the head.

  • Apply product, such as mousse/hairspray to give it a sleeker look

  • Pull back each side into 1 low ponytail in the back of the head

  • Twist the hair in a ponytail and wrap it into a bun and secure it with bobby pins.

 

MAKEUP:  See the picture above for a good example of makeup as well.

Will be done using any neutral eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, and blush as needed. For the lip color, you will need to purchase the NYX lip cream in color Rome. You can find this at CVS, Walgreens, Target, or even online.

Please remember that lighting will wash out your dancer's face if you do not apply enough makeup. It is always a good idea to apply more than you would typically use.

Picture Week Schedule

 

  • To help with Parents Scheduling, this year's Picture Day will be held during the Week of April 12th-15th. To find your dancer's picture times, please refer to the picture day schedule attached below. The schedule includes your dancer's class name and the time they will need to arrive at the studio for pictures. There will NOT be regular classes during this week. If you are unsure of your dancer's class, you can view it in the GoMotion app at any time by selecting the member's name and then classes.

  • We will be conducting the pictures the same way we did last year since it turned out so great and took a lot of stress off of parents and faculty. Dancers will come in at their designated time and then we will bring them in one at a time and we will get a great shot of them in each of their costumes. Then, our photographer will photoshop each class together for our Recital Program.

  •  The placement of your dancer's group photo in our recital program has been covered by the program fee. However, if you would like to purchase a copy of this group photo for yourself, it can be done on Picture day via the order form from the photographer.
  • In order to purchase the solo picture or other specialty photos, all you have to do is buy one of the photographer's packages and indicate which costume you would like the solo picture of and we will make sure to get that image for you. Order Forms will be available at the studio on Picture Day and we will also send out a copy via email for your reference closer to that date.

** On the day of the pictures, Colin, the photographer, will be available to answer any questions/concerns you have regarding photo orders, etc.

 

Additional details on Picture day info and what hair, make-up, will be needed will be posted closer to that date. For now, please make sure that you mark the times on your calendar and purchase the correct stockings and shoes!
