One Month Till Recital

Good Afternoon TDA Family,

As you know, the Recital is officially 1 month away and we want to make sure we are all on the same page to ensure another year of successful shows! 

 

I know that recital time can be a stressful season for us all. There will be a lot of information coming your way over the next month but we have done our best to put the answers to the all answers and details on our website under the Recital information tab and over the next few weeks we will be sending out more information as needed so that we do not bombard you with too many details at once. 

 

Please review this email carefully for important reminders, info on ‘Years of Dance awards’, Rehearsal week schedule, New things this year, and more! 

 

  1. Class attendance- Please help us by making sure your child is on time and in attendance at all of his/her classes. This is VITAL in ensuring that all students are ready for the recital and that our performance is a professional one. If your student misses class in the month of April/May and has already exceeded their allowed absences for the year, they may be required to schedule a private lesson to make up missed material. In which case we will contact you to schedule.

 

  1. Recital tickets- General Assigned Seating Tickets are $20; Priority Assigned Seating is now SOLD OUT for both shows. We still have General Assigned seats but keep in mind that we are assigning seats on a first-come-serve basis so be sure to order your tickets ASAP via our Recital Ticket Order Form. Payment is due at the time of order in order to reserve seating. Additional details on the ordering process, showtimes, etc. can be found at any time via our Website.

 

  1. Recital T-shirt purchase- There is still time to purchase additional recital shirts and you can do so using our 2023 Recital T-Shirt order Form. Dancers will already be receiving a Recital Shirt in their Recital packet. So there is no need to purchase them one. However, if you would like to purchase one for yourself or family, the Deadline to purchase t-shirts is April 20th! 

 

  1. Pictures/Logos for Program Ad Space- If you have purchased ad space in the recital program but have not sent us the pictures or logos you’d like to use, please do so ASAP. Our graphic designer has been working diligently and we want to make sure we don’t miss anything. If you purchased the program file or digital image file from the photographer on picture day, there is no need to send the picture over as he has already done so. The only information we would need from you is which picture you’d like to use on which ad space.(for students who took multiple pictures or purchased multiple ad spaces) Otherwise, you are all set! Picture orders for those who ordered prints from Mr. Colin should be in next week and we will notify you once they are in. 

 

  1. Programs: As a reminder, you will receive 1 recital program/family in your recital packet. If you or a family member would like to purchase an additional program you can do so by contacting our office. Programs are $25ea and orders must be received before April 20th to reserve a copy. Otherwise, we will have a limited quantity for sale at the recital and once sold out we will be unable to order additional copies. 

 

  1. Awards- Each year we give out awards to dancers who are completing their 3rd,5th,7th, or 9th &  more years of dance. In order to receive this award Parents MUST send us an email stating their dancer's years of dance NO LATER than April 20th. Unfortunately, if parents do not send us this information by then, their dancer will not receive an award at our Awards Ceremony.

Once we have a full list of all award recipients for the year, we will be sending out a full list to you all along with details on the Awards ceremony, etc. Keep an eye out for this next week!

 

  1. NEW THIS YEAR: We are so excited to be back in an auditorium setting for the recital! Since we are able to only have 2 shows this year, we will have a short awards ceremony preceding each show (more deets to come). Only dancers who are receiving an award will need to be on stage for the Awards Ceremony!

 

  1. ALSO! We are excited to be bringing back the Closing Bow this year! At the very end of each show, we will invite all dancers back to the stage to give one final bow! More details will be sent out on this in our 2 weeks until recital email. 

 

  1. Dress Rehearsal this year is Sunday, May 7th at the Sugarcane Festival Building Auditorium. Please see the Recital Information 2023 Page of our website for more details on the Dress Rehearsal. This year we have the luxury of having a full week of in-studio rehearsals after the dress rehearsal but before the recital where we will get to work out any kinks from the dress rehearsal. See below for details on those rehearsal deets and please keep in mind that ONLY the DRESS REHEARSAL & THE RECITAL will be at the Sugar Cane Festival building and will require full hair/makeup and costumes. Any rehearsals at the studio will be in regular dance attire.

 

  1. Recital Week Rehearsals @ the studio- Following our dress rehearsal, during the week of Recital May 8th-12th is when your dancers will be having rehearsals at the studio. Your dancer's rehearsals are on the same day as their normal classes but for many classes, the times may vary slightly to allow for more rehearsal time as needed. Please be sure to view the schedule via the Recital information page of our website or via the attachment to this email & mark the adjusted times on your schedules for that week. Just find the class that your dancer is enrolled in and make sure they are at the studio ready to dance. Students are required to attend all rehearsals to perform in the show unless otherwise discussed. *Class times will remain the same for all other weeks except for this rehearsal week*



 

Wrap-Up: As a reminder, the only things we need from you at this time, other than ensuring you read through this email are:

  • Email/ text us your dancer’s years of dance before April 20th if they are completing their 3,5,7,9 or more years of dance ONLY.

  • Order your Recital Tickets (if you have not already done so) → Recital Ticket Order Form

  • Order your Recital T-Shirts before April 20th → 2023 Recital T-Shirt order Form

  • Order any additional programs before April 20th by contacting our office
